Out and About in the Community

Commitment for Life.

The text of the letter received from Commitment for Life.

6th December 2022.

Dear Martin,

We are most grateful for your congregation’s kind donation of £1,320.00 to Commitment for Life. your continued generosity towards our support for Christian Aid and Global Justice Now is much appreciated.

At General assembly inn July 2018 the Chief Executive of Christian Aid, Amanda Khozi Mukwashi said of our long-standing partnership.

“Christian Aid’s relationship with the URC through Commitment for Life (CfL) is a model of positive partnership. Partnership is the cornerstone of how we’re going to get to the promised land. For Christian Aid, Commitment for Life is not just a partnership, it’s that moment, that rope where, when you are felling like it’s really tough, you know that you’re not alone.”

Your contributions make an enormous and practical difference to our partner communities. Your prayers, activism & generosity are a wonderful demonstration of ‘life giving faith, defiant hope and generous love’.

with grateful thanks,

Suzanne Pearson

The Leaving Care Team works with about 120 young people and adults in the west of Suffolk and even as far as Wales. Many of them have suffered significant trauma and loss throughout their childhood which has impacted on them long term.

The workers in the team are often the only people who celebrate their birthdays, with a cake and provide thoughtful presents at Christmas which although a joyous time can be difficult.
